Description

This drawing is a pictorial representation of the third mainland bridge located in Lagos, ‘Eko’; one of the most populous cities in Africa. Traffic in the city increased throughout the 1970s and 1980s – leading to heavy congestion on roads. This led to the building of this bridge.

Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the other are the Eko and Carter bridges. It was the longest bridge in Africa until 1996 when the 6th October Bridge located in Cairo was completed.

The bridge was formerly known as the Ibrahim Babangida Bridge because it was started and completed during Ibrahim Babaginda’s regime. This bridge is one of the many heritages of Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Add a wonderful accent to your room and office via this artwork.

Bring home the smells, the sounds, and the hustle and bustle of Nigeria’s most colourful city. You or your loved one may be far from Nigeria, so bring a piece of it to you!
